Water is not an endless resource and Justmeans offers advice for avoiding agriculture products that are water hogs:

“Grain-fed animals are quite water-intensive to farm, since they drink water themselves and eat grain that itself needs to be grown with water. If you’re thinking about vegetables, cereal crops tend to be on the heavy end of the water hog spectrum. After them come fruit trees, and finally, vegetables. As a general rule, eating your vegetables is not only good for you, it’s good for environmental sustainability.”
