Seafood alert

“Navigating toward fully sustainable seafood departments,” Whole Foods has started labeling seafood guidelines at its stores this week.

Guidelines like these will raise consumer awareness about the environmental impact of their purchases.

We agree with Whole Foods: “The statistics are staggering. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reports that 80 percent of fisheries are fully exploited, overfished, depleted, or recovering from depletion.”

Troll-caught albacore tuna remains a sustainable fishery and all St. Jude tuna is troll-caught albacore. And you can find St. Jude albacore tuna on Whole Foods shelves throughout the Pacific Northwest.
