Kentucky tuna?

If the choices over sustainable tuna aren’t confusing enough, the University of Kentucky and Stephen Colbert have stepped forward with a new name for the Asian carp:

Kentucky tuna.

“Asian carp’s reputation as a foreign invader is a turnoff to consumers,” writes Gerald “Gerry” Pugliese for OrganicAuthority.com. “They hope the name change will be the public relations bump Asian carp needs.”

Colbert – a master at bring attention to big issues – gave us a good laugh. But FV St. Jude won’t be fishing for the new Kentucky tuna any time soon and we’ll stick with Pacific albacore.

Be sure to check out OrganicAuthority.com, too, which offers great recipes and ideas. “We all believe that being healthy, having fun, and saving the planet are goals that naturally go together,” the masthead notes.
