“If the Atlantic bluefin tuna is listed as an endangered species, the decision could cause serious hardships for the local fishing community,” writes Christine Cullen for Ocean City Today.

And if not listed, the bluefin could disappear altogether.

Granted, the fishing community of Ocean City is worried about a ban endangering all fishing activity off its shores. If the bluefin populations improve,  fishermen will have a tough time going out and avoiding the big fish.

The dilemma is not easy to solve.

St. Jude tuna is only Pacific albacore – no bluefin.
