A new research study from Sweden suggests that women who eat three or more servings of fish each week reduce their chances of stroke. “Specifically, fish-lovers in Sweden were 16 percent less likely to experience a stroke over a 10-year-period, relative to women who ate fish less than once a week,” notes the article from Reuters.
The best fish for a healthy diet – lean fish and those rich in omega-3 fatty acids, including salmon and albacore, though the study admits any fish is better than no fish at all.
All F/V St. Jude tuna is albacore.
The study confirms previous studies that suggest a diet heavy in fish reduces risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
